Policy Notice Only
The following information provides a plain-language summary regarding your care at Cryptid Counseling. Please note that this overview is intended for informational purposes and does not constitute formal legal advice. It is not a substitute for professional legal counsel or the detailed Disclosure Statement provided at the start of our work together. We encourage you to review your specific rights under Colorado state law to ensure you are fully informed about the therapeutic process and our professional relationship.
Colorado Client Bill of Rights
At Cryptid Counseling, we believe in a transparent and respectful partnership. As a client in Colorado, you have the following rights:
• The right to be treated with dignity, respect, and without any form of discrimination.
• The right to be informed of your therapist’s professional credentials, experience, and clinical approach.
• The right to ask questions about your treatment and take an active role in creating your therapeutic goals.
• The right to financial clarity, including access to information regarding session fees, billing procedures, and our cancellation policies.
• The right to file a formal complaint with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) if you feel your rights have been violated.
Your privacy is a priority. While you have a right to confidentiality, Colorado law requires therapists to breach privacy in specific situations: if there is suspected child or elder abuse, if you present an immediate danger to yourself or others, or if a court issues a formal order for records.
Shared Professional Responsibilities
Therapy at Cryptid Counseling is a collaborative effort that relies on mutual trust. To facilitate growth, we ask that you provide accurate personal information and communicate honestly regarding your progress or safety concerns. We expect sessions to begin on time and ask that you respect the professional boundaries established for our work together.
Please remember that therapy is a scheduled, non-emergency service. If you are experiencing a crisis, please contact local emergency resources immediately. Together, we can create a supportive space for undiscovered growth. If you are in crisis or experiencing an emergency, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
